Please read these notices at the top before reading the event information and/ or applying.
Entries open on Weds 18th March. Please don't email for advance entry it is simply first come first served.
Runners must have previously had an active entry into a long distance race planned for the same date using mainly the coast to coast National Trail at the point in which it was cancelled last week, in order to apply for a place in this event. It is being put on for people who lost out on their race only.
This is not a standard Centurion Event. There are no check points, markings or route marshals. The entry fee is nominal and designed to cover the cost of the insurance, permit and tracker only.
This event is a one off and doesn't intend to copy or simulate any other existing race for the future.
Runners enter at entirely their own risk and must be self-sufficient. If you read the information on this page and have any questions, it is unlikely this event is for you.
Runners must submit their running background/ CV at time of entry. We reserve the right to cancel and refund any runner we do not feel has the experience to take this challenge on safely.
Runners must abide by all rules at all times. We reserve the right to cancel if weather warnings or any other access issues are presented at any time.
This event is entirely separate from any other runners choosing to cover similar routes over the same time frames. Runners entered into this race will have bib numbers which they must have on display on their packs at all times.
Finally, please read all of the instructions before you apply. If the race sells out its 35 entries, we apologise but that is a condition of the insurance and race license for a race of this nature eg. self-supported.
The event is a 300 km non-stop route with a reliance on self-sufficiency. Runners must complete the challenge within 100 hours of their start time to be eligible as official finishers. Entries go live on Wednesday 18th March 2026.
Runners will start at St Bee’s in Cumbria between 0900 and 1100 on Saturday 28th March, with one toe in the water, and run east as far as Robin Hood Bay to touch the beach there - mirroring as much as possible the Coast to Coast route which becomes a national trail officially on the 26th March 2026. At the foot of this page is a supplied GPX that runners must follow at all times via maps/ handheld or watch GPS devices which are mandatory kit.
Runners will be supplied with a tracker which will last the duration of the race, a bib number and one crew pass in St Bees. They must carry the tracker and have the bib number visible at all times during the race.
Race HQ and the emergency line will be remote and available throughout. The tracker will be monitored by the team at all times.
Runners are welcome to have crew support them along the way at road crossings and or other places. Locations are listed further down this page.
Runners must finish within 100 hours of their start time or will not be counted as official finishers.
The mandatory kit list will be enforced, but it is up to runners to ensure they’re carrying the sufficient kit and following the supplied GPX.
A starting field of a maximum of 35 people is expected all of them checked for competency prior to acceptance. The entry fee is nominal and simply to cover the cost of the tracker and insurance.
The race is held under UK Athletics rules via a license issued by the TRA: Number 8320. Race has full insurance and results will be published and shared with all of the major databases after the event.
