WHAT COUNTS AND HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RESULTS?

The link to submit results is available here. Once the event starts you can submit results at any time. Follow the instructions on that page. You will be asked to enter the time and day you started your first run and the time and day you finished your (last) run. Your bib number is available via the entrants page here. The system will automatically calculate your finish time for you and display your result on the leaderboard.

Important: Please do not enter partial results, please enter the time you start your first run and the time you finish your last run. Your time is the time elapsed between starting your first run and finishing your last run so for most people it will be a number of days, then hours, mins and secs.

There is also a box to enter links through to strava or similar, and an option to upload a GPX file or other proof. This is an honour based event and proof of your run (or runs) is not required, enter the details only if you prefer. 

You can run anywhere, anytime. Outside on road, trail, on the treadmill, anywhere you like. But please only count sessions where you have actively gone out to add to your distance, not simply steps around the house or as part of your normal day to day movement.

ARE THERE ANY RULES?

The primary objective of this event is to bring our amazing community together once again. The goal is for each runner to set their own target and to complete that within the week. As a result we won't be verifying and checking all results that come in, rather trusting everyone to input their overall time for completion honestly. 

Those who are under 18 years of age must have your parental consent to enter.

Here are some guidelines as opposed to rules!

IS THERE ANY ADVICE AVAILABLE ON HOW I SHOULD RUN THE EVENT?

Centurion Running coaches James Elson and Robbie Britton have recorded a podcast available here, where they discuss the different ways to approach the event, and share some tips and advice of things to consider in planning for and running the event. They focus on the longer distances but there is some food for thought for runners entered into all distances and all abilities.

The two have also put together some sample schedules based around consistency and completing the event as sustainably as possible for the 50 mile and 100 mile distances which are availble here (50 mile) and here (100 mile).

HOW DO I WORK OUT HOW LONG MY RACE TOOK?

The time for your event begins when you start the clock on your first run and finishes when you stop the clock on your final run. If you just run once then it is the start and finish time of that run. Time needs to be recorded as elapsed time ie. total time and not moving time. Moving time is most commonly found via strava which strips out any standing still or watch stopped time from the overall time. The simplest way to see the elapsed time is by changing the 'Type' of Session -  to 'Race'. It will then display the total elapsed time for the session.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE LEADERBOARD/ RESULTS TABLE UPDATE?

As a minimum, the results will refresh roughly every hour.

WHERE CAN I RUN? IS A TREADMILL OK?

You can run anywhere, anytime. Outside on road, trail, on the treadmill, anywhere you like. But please only count sessions where you have actively gone out to add to your distance, not simply steps around the house or as part of your normal day to day movement.

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONCE?

Yes it will simply overwrite the initial result. Example: If you tried your 5km at the start of the week and wanted to try again at the weekend you can submit your fastest time.

You must submit all results by 2359 on Sunday 20th February 2022.

DO I HAVE TO RUN OR CAN I WALK?

You can run or walk, doesn't matter which. But as above please make your session a run or walk to actively achieve your target, don't add any daily step counts to your total.

I DON'T HAVE A WATCH HOW DO I RECORD MY DISTANCE?

You don't have to use a watch or GPS device if you don't want to. This is a community event and is an honour based system so simply put in what you achieved to your best judgement. You can use google maps or a similar open mapping system to work out roughly how far you travelled. 

WHEN WILL MY AWARDS BE SENT OUT?

We will post your award out to you once we see that you have completed your race. Please give us at least 2 weeks from the end of the event, to get your medal or buckle out to you, but of course we will go as fast we can! International orders might take longer.

WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER?

You can enter any time up until the end of the 20th February. Runs you have already completed during that week, can count towards your event.

CAN I ENTER MORE THAN ONE EVENT?

Yes, if you want to run more than just one distance, you can enter as many as you wish via race director/ the enter button.

CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG/ IS THERE A CANICROSS CATEGORY?

Yes - Simply select 'yes' during registration to 'running with a dog?' and you will appear in your age group but also the canicross category. 

Please do not enter your dog in the race directly/ of it's own accord as it will appear against humans in the results. Which means a young child may miss out on their result as they have been beaten by a dog / adult :)

I AM BASED OUTSIDE OF THE UK, CAN I STILL TAKE PART?

Yes! The event is open to everybody no matter your location. We hope to see many international runners taking part. 

WHEN WILL MY BIB NUMBER BE AVAILABLE TO ME?

Bibs are not posted out, they are available to you once you enter. Within a short time of receiving your entry, you will appear on the entrants page here. Click on your race number to see your bib number and you can print it from there.
