Welcome to our Ultrarunning Workshop. The day is designed to deliver you the information, knowledge and skills to get more enjoyment out of your running, to maximise your potential and to help you avoid many of the common pitfalls that ultrarunning can lead to.
Over the course of the day we will focus on the topics that are central to enjoyment, improvement and sustainability in running ultras.
We will cater for all experience levels, whether you are looking to run your first 50km or have years of racing under your belt.
The sessions will be run by James Elson, Race Director at Centurion Running, a qualified UK Athletics coach with a decade of experience working with athletes of all abilities. James will be joined by Drew Sheffield and Nici Griffin who form the core of the Staff Team at Centurion Running. Between us we have run every type of ultra on every terrain, as well as directing ultras at Centurion Running since 2011.
The cost includes talks on all of the key topics outlined further down the page, a 90 minute led running session where we will discuss technique, core skills and running to effort over time vs heart rate vs pace. Hot drinks and lunch are also included in the price.

"The workshop covers a wealth of information to discuss the very cornerstones of ultra running training. Laid out in layman terms this is pitched well for any runner seeking clarity on how to train better and avoid common pitfalls. The slides emailed provide a quick reference of the key points to help keep you on track. I feel it’s given my training the direction it needed and I feel uplifted and inspired to give my best to the running once again."
