Autumn 100 2025 Preview

The fourteenth annual Autumn 100 kicks off this coming Saturday 18th October 2025 at 0900. A sold out field of 250 runners will aim to cover what is currently the second fastest trail 100 miler in the UK, in times ranging from sub 14 hours up to the maximum allowed 28 hours. The course is comprised of a series of four, 25 mile out and back spurs, each emanating from Goring on Thames and making use of both the Ridgeway and Thames Path National Trails in equal measure.

The race also represents the fourth and final leg of the 2025 100 Mile Grand Slam, with 19 runners looking to complete what is truly an epic journey which began back at the Thames Path 100 in May, extended through the South and North Downs Way 100s in June and August respectively before moving on to this, the culmination of a dream!

Here's a quick look at the possible leading contenders in both the womens and mens races.

MEN

Hugh Tibbs (ITRA Rank: 792): Twice second place finisher at the South Downs Way 100. In 2024 Hugh ran 14:46 before bettering that to 14:13 this year. Earlier this year he set a new course record of 6:22 at the North Downs Way 50 and more recently ran home with a new course record at Race to the Stones.

Hugh Tibbs

Kallum Pritchard (ITRA Rank: 755): Kallum was our 2024 Thames Path 100 Champion. This year he won Country to Capital before finishing second at Hundred Hills 50km in a time under the previous course record. His 50 mile PB is a 5:39 run at the Manchester to Liverpool ultra.

Kallum Pritchard

Peter Windross (ITRA Rank: 758): Pete is one of three runners to ever break the 14 hour mark at this race, when he lost out on the win by just 10 seconds to Jacob Snochowski in 2021, truly a race for the ages. He is a multiple time event winner with us including at both the TP100 and SDW100, but those results were a few years ago now and recent results have been strong but not quite at that level - he finished 24th at the SDW100 and 16th at the NDW100 this year.

David Green (ITRA Rank: 755): David was one of the favourites coming in to this years SDW100 where he was at the front for the first quarter before things went awry and he called it a day early. He'd previously taken fifth at the Arc of Attrition and won a host of other races including the Ridgeway 86, Stour Valley Path 100km and the Endurancelife South Devon ultra amongst others. Last year he finished 11th at the internationally competitive Trail Alsace Grand Est by UTMB - Ultra-Trail des Païens.

Damon Hannis (ITRA Rank: 682): Second at the TP100 this year in 15:56, he DNF'd this race in 2024 so will be hungry for a solid run out for sure.

In the hunt for top ten: Norbert Mihalik, Ciaran McAneny, Martin Reed.

WOMEN

Jennie Dunkley (ITRA Rank: 527): Winner of this years Thames Path 100, Jennie was fifth here in 2024. Jennie is leading the Grand Slam womens event as she ran home inside the Top Ten at the North Downs Way 100 after she ground out a brave finish at the SDW100 back in June, a race which went sideways early on.

Jennie Dunkley

Emma Brock (ITRA Rank: 526): Past winner of both the North Coast 110km and 110 miler. Emma took second at the Jurassic Coast 100 miler in 2022 as well as at the 2024 Devon Coast to Coast 112 mile ultra.

Jette Anders (ITRA Rank: 532): Jette took top ten at the Tuscany Crossing earlier this year as well as at least four other German ultras ranging from 50km all the way up to a 100 mile+ Backyard Ultra in August where she took the overall win.

Lou Mclaughlin (ITRA Rank: 524): Irish runner who in 2023 finished Top Ten at the British 100km Championships. Lou won both the Wild Atlantic Ultra and Kerry Way Ultra 50km back in 2022.

Alicja Pyszka-Bazan: Alicja holds the current World Record for Womens Triple Ironman with a time of 36:13.

Sarah Penny (ITRA Rank: 506): Second at the Thames Path 100 this year behind of Jennie Dunkley. Just three weeks ago she finished the Chiltern Wonderland in 9:45 in what was a solid last long run prior to what will be her second 100 miler.

Sarah Penny

Bonnie Rye (ITRA Rank: 487): Bonnie was third at the Thames Path 100 last year in what was her second ever 100, following the SDW100 in 2023. She also ran home second at the Downslink ultra in October of that year.
